Xpeng announced that it has produced its one-millionth vehicle, a milestone for the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker. The announcement was made by Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng at the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show.
The milestone comes 14 months after Xpeng reached 500,000 vehicles, which took 82 months from the company’s first production car, He said. Delivery of the one-millionth vehicle is expected in the coming days.
As of the end of October, Xpeng’s cumulative deliveries reached 945,588 vehicles, with 42,013 units delivered in October alone. This represents a 75.66 percent increase compared with the same month last year and a slight 1.04 percent rise from September.
Yesterday, Xpeng launched the extended-range version of its X9 MPV, with a starting price of RMB 309,800 ($43,560), lower than both the pre-sales price and the X9 battery electric vehicle (BEV). The company said the model represents its entry into the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) market, aiming to broaden its customer base.
During an earnings call on November 17, Xpeng management said the company expects to achieve breakeven in the fourth quarter. The company reported a net loss of RMB 380 million for the third quarter, its lowest quarterly loss since the third quarter of 2020.
