Xpeng has officially launched four electric vehicle models in Bahrain, strengthening its presence in the Gulf region as the Chinese automaker continues to expand its international operations.

The company introduced the X9 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), G9 and G6 sport utility vehicles, and the P7+ sedan during a launch event in Bahrain, where it also celebrated a global production milestone for one of its key models.

Four EV Models Enter Bahrain Market

Xpeng said the X9, G9, G6 and P7+ are now available for customers in Bahrain, adding another market to its growing international sales network.

During the launch event, the company delivered its 200,000th G6 worldwide. The milestone ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Ni Ruchi and Bahraini government officials.

According to Xpeng, the G6 is now sold in more than 50 countries and regions, spanning Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa, Latin America and the Gulf region.

The latest version of the G6 was introduced in China in January. The 2026 model comes equipped with Xpeng’s in-house-developed Turing AI chip as standard, while buyers can choose an optional advanced driver-assistance package.

Local Production Supports Global Expansion

The G6 has also become a central part of Xpeng’s international manufacturing strategy.

Last month, the first locally assembled G6 rolled off the production line at partner EP Manufacturing Bhd’s facility in Malacca, Malaysia.

Malaysia represents Xpeng’s third overseas localized assembly base after Indonesia and Austria. The company has adopted an asset-light manufacturing strategy, working with local partners to expand production while limiting large capital investments.

Overseas Business Continues to Grow

Xpeng has accelerated its international expansion over the past two years as it seeks to diversify beyond its domestic Chinese market.

The automaker has previously stated that it aims for overseas markets to contribute half of its global vehicle sales over the next decade.

Company management has also indicated that international operations are expected to account for more than 20% of total revenue beginning in the second quarter of this year, reflecting the growing importance of overseas markets to Xpeng’s long-term growth strategy.

The launch in Bahrain further strengthens the company’s presence in the Middle East, where demand for premium electric vehicles has continued to expand alongside broader regional investments in sustainable transportation.
