German charging solutions provider Wirelane has acquired Ladegrün, adding the green-focused charging operator’s infrastructure to its network in a move that underlines further consolidation in the country’s electric vehicle charging market.
The integration will take place gradually, with all existing customer contracts retained and transferred to Wirelane. While the announcement referred to a merger, Wirelane confirmed it had acquired Ladegrün, though financial details were not disclosed.
Munich-based Wirelane is best known for its AC charging points and its operator platform WirelaneOS, which offers municipalities, companies, hotels and commercial sites services spanning planning, installation and operations. Ladegrün, founded in 2020 by renewable energy providers including EWS Elektrizitätswerke Schönau, Green Planet Energy and Naturstrom, has built a reputation for sustainable and resource-efficient charging solutions, such as at branches of the German organic supermarket chain Alnatura.
Ladegrün customers will “benefit immediately from additional service expertise, digital billing and operations via WirelaneOS, as well as improved service and maintenance structures,” Wirelane said. Although not officially confirmed, the Ladegrün brand is expected to be phased out as part of the transition.
“With Ladegrün at our side, we are strengthening our shared goal of making sustainable and customer-friendly e-mobility available to all groups in society,” Wirelane CEO Constantin Schwaab said in a statement. “The uncompromising focus on genuine green electricity and flexible business models complements our offering perfectly.”
Jan-Philip von Gottberg, Managing Director of Ladegrün, said: “We are convinced that real sustainability begins in everyday life – where people shop, work and live. With Wirelane at our side, we can translate this conviction into even more concrete charging locations. Green mobility needs not only technology, but also attitude – and together we are bringing both onto the road.”
