Maserati has announced the latest Maserati GranTurismo EV electric car technology teaser (17/3).
The electric Maserati GranTurismo teaser was shared along with the sales proceeds and the electrification plan of the Stellantis luxury brand.
The Maserati GranTurismo will be the first car in the Folgore lineup to use a fully electric drive. The Folgore lineup will be expanded to other models starting from the Grecale, MC20, Quattroporte, and Levante.
Maserati targets all models sold by the luxury car manufacturer to be electric by 2030. At first glance at the teaser, the GranTurismo Folgore still retains the coupe-style design of the previous GranTurismo.
The difference is, the GranTurismo Folgore looks to have used the latest Maserati design language starting from the MC20.
This can be seen from the use of lamps that are more upright, the rims are designed like three bars, and the brake lights are slimmer and more connected. Interestingly, it is said that GranTurismo Folgore will use inverter technology developed in the Formula E racing event.
In addition to the Formula E inverter, the GranTurismo Folgore also uses lightweight materials on the platform, body and motor. Maserati claims the GranTurismo Folgore will be the fastest electric car in the luxury segment with more than 1,200 horsepower.
Maserati also mentions the acceleration performance of 0-100 km / h which is targeted in the range of two seconds and the top speed penetrates 300 km / h.
Don’t forget that GranTurismo Folgore is said to have the best charging performance.
Unfortunately, Maserati has not released information on the specifications of this electric GranTurismo, but has said it will launch in 2023.
