Solaris Bus & Coach and Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe (MZA) Warsaw have signed a fresh contract for the delivery of 50 articulated battery-electric buses, marking another milestone in the Polish capital’s push toward sustainable public transport. The new Solaris Urbino 18 electric models are scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2026.

The latest agreement comes shortly after MZA placed an order for 79 Solaris electric buses, underscoring Warsaw’s steady commitment to lowering emissions across its transit network.

The Urbino 18 electric stands out with its modular drive system and distributed architecture, which removes the traditional engine tower to create more passenger room.

Each bus will carry over 700 kWh of Solaris High Energy batteries mounted on the roof and will be charged via a plug-in connector, optimizing both range and maintenance efficiency.

The collaboration between Solaris and MZA dates back to 1997, making it one of the longest-running public transport partnerships in the region. Over the past decade, MZA has consistently expanded its electric bus fleet to meet the city’s clean mobility targets.
