Volkswagen said on Wednesday it will keep vehicle prices unchanged through the end of May, becoming the latest automaker to reassure consumers amid growing concerns that potential tariffs could drive up prices.
The announcement follows similar commitments from other car manufacturers seeking to ease shopper anxiety and sustain sales momentum. Earlier this month, Hyundai Motor said it would maintain current sticker prices on its vehicles through June 2.

U.S. carmakers have also responded with pricing strategies aimed at boosting demand. Ford Motor and Stellantis introduced significant discounts across their product lines, while Nissan lowered prices on its upcoming 2025 Rogue and Pathfinder models.
Although the pricing stability has triggered a short-term increase in showroom traffic, industry executives have warned that prolonged tariffs could raise production costs, which may eventually be passed on to consumers. Automakers continue to monitor developments closely as trade policy discussions evolve.
