VinFast more than doubled its domestic electric vehicle sales last year, driven largely by strong demand for lower-priced passenger models, as the automaker continued to expand its manufacturing footprint at home and abroad.
The company said it sold nearly twice as many vehicles in Vietnam as the previous record held by a foreign brand, offering the broadest electric lineup in the country, ranging from the VF 3 micro-SUV to the VF 9 full-size SUV. Passenger cars accounted for the majority of domestic deliveries.

The VF 3 micro-SUV was VinFast’s best-selling model, with 44,585 units delivered, followed closely by the VF 5 small SUV at 43,913 units. The VF 6 subcompact SUV added 23,291 units. Higher-end passenger vehicles saw weaker demand, with the VF 7 compact SUV recording 9,653 units.
Commercial models also contributed to growth. The Limo Green mid-size electric MPV, which entered the market in August, delivered 27,127 units during the year, including 10,981 units in December alone. The Herio Green, derived from the VF 5, recorded sales of 12,568 units in 2025.

“This is not only the result of our efforts to win over customers through product and service quality, but also affirms VinFast’s pioneering and leading role in the green transportation revolution that is strongly underway in Vietnam,” said Duong Thi Thu Trang.
VinFast delivered more than 87,000 electric vehicles domestically in 2024 and more than doubled that figure in 2025. In a recent stock exchange filing, the company said it expects global deliveries to have approached 200,000 vehicles last year, up from 97,399 units in 2024, implying year-on-year growth of more than 100%.

To support expansion, VinFast opened three new EV factories in 2025, including a 200,000-unit domestic plant in Ha Tinh, as well as CKD facilities in India and Indonesia with planned capacities of 150,000 and 350,000 units respectively. The company said initial production at the overseas plants will be capped at up to 50,000 units annually in the first phase.
At its existing factory in Hai Phong, VinFast rolled out its 200,000th electric vehicle on Dec. 31. Despite the capacity additions, the automaker said overall production remains well below installed capacity as it scales demand across domestic and international markets.
