Toyota has introduced the bZ Time Attack Concept at the 2025 SEMA Show, marking its first fully electric performance concept and a bold step into the high-performance EV space. Based on the upcoming 2026 bZ AWD platform, the concept features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain producing over 400 horsepower, supported by bespoke ECU tuning and motorsport-grade aerodynamics.

Developed by Toyota’s Motorsports Technical Center, the bZ Time Attack Concept explores the limits of battery-electric performance in demanding motorsport conditions such as time attack circuits and hill climbs.

The vehicle builds on the production bZ AWD, which already delivers 338 hp and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. “This year at SEMA, we wanted to push ourselves into unexplored territory,” said Marty Schwerter, Director of Operations at Toyota’s Motorsports Technical Center. “It’s a chance to explore, learn, and create something that shows just how much potential exists within Toyota’s BEV platforms.”

The concept incorporates a six-inch lower ride height, a widened track, and a complete aerodynamic package that includes a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a large rear wing. Developed through a collaboration between Toyota R&D, TRD, and the Add Lab in Georgetown, Kentucky, the bodywork combines laser scanning, CAD modeling, and large-scale 3D printing to achieve precision and reduced development time.

Finished in a pearl white, black, and red tri-color scheme, the bZ Time Attack rides on 19×11-inch BBS Unlimited wheels wrapped in 305/30ZR19 Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires. The chassis setup features TEIN coilovers, Alcon brakes, and a full FIA-spec roll cage, with OMP racing seats and harnesses completing the interior.

“The goal wasn’t to simply create a showpiece,” Schwerter added. “It was to see how far the new bZ platform could be pushed in a motorsport setting.” The bZ Time Attack Concept forms part of Toyota’s wider electrification strategy showcased under the “Powered by Possibility” theme at SEMA 2025, which also includes upcoming models such as the bZ Woodland and the all-electric C-HR.
