Mobile electric vehicle charging provider SparkCharge has partnered with Zipcar and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to deploy a high-power, off-grid fast-charging hub at Zipcar’s East Boston maintenance facility, supporting electric fleet charging without the need for traditional utility infrastructure upgrades. The charging hub, backed by funding from MassCEC’s InnovateMass program, delivers up to 320 kilowatts of DC fast charging using a battery-powered mobile trailer system. The installation is designed to serve Zipcar’s growing shared electric vehicle fleet and accelerate turnaround times for vehicles operating across Greater Boston. Sweden-based automotive recycling group Autocirc has launched a new platform designed to standardise the safe dismantling and reuse of damaged and end-of-life electric vehicles, as Europe faces a growing wave of retired high-voltage batteries and EV components. The platform, called EV360, introduces a unified process for dismantling, testing and reselling original reusable electric vehicle parts, including high-voltage batteries that can be deployed either in stationary energy storage systems or reused directly as replacement batteries in other vehicles. Founded in 2019, Autocirc has expanded rapidly and now operates a group of about 70 companies with more than 1,400 employees across Sweden,…
U.S. sales of Honda Motor’s first mass-market electric SUV, the Prologue, fell sharply in November after the expiration of the federal electric vehicle tax credit, highlighting how dependent demand for some EV models remains on government incentives. Honda said deliveries of the Prologue dropped 86.2% year-on-year in November to 903 units, down from about 6,800 a year earlier. The decline followed the removal of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit earlier this autumn, which had previously supported the vehicle’s competitive positioning in the U.S. market.
