The innovative facility will allow Tesla drivers to enjoy food and beverages while charging their vehicles, with entertainment provided on two large movie screens. Waitstaff on roller skates will add to the retro-style diner experience. Tesla has reportedly been applying for HVAC and plumbing permits, signaling significant progress in construction.

Eagle-eyed Tesla enthusiasts have spotted new features in the company’s app update (version 4.41.0) that seem to reference the diner project. These include a Tesla Diner user interface, a diner-specific icon, and coding terms such as “DinerHomeScreen,” “profile_settings_diner_description,” and “View menu & amenities.” While Tesla has not announced an official opening date, these hints suggest the project is advancing steadily.

The Santa Monica Boulevard diner will operate its charging stalls 24/7, but the movie screens will be active between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Tesla has already installed the main door and several charging stalls, but unforeseen delays, such as those related to the ongoing wildfires in California, could impact the timeline.
