Tesla has released its latest over-the-air software update, version 2025.26, which introduces several new features across its electric vehicle lineup in the United States, including a beta version of the conversational AI tool Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s xAI.

The update is available for Tesla vehicles equipped with AMD processors and includes enhancements to ambient lighting, dashcam functionality, audio presets, charging information, and a new onboarding guide aimed at improving user experience. The AI feature, Grok, remains in beta and requires a Wi-Fi connection or Tesla’s Premium Connectivity package to operate.

According to Tesla’s official post on X, “Update 2025.26 makes Grok available to cars in the US and with AMD processors.” The company added that the AI system does not control the vehicle and does not interfere with existing voice command functionality.

Grok, which debuted in 2023 and is also integrated into Musk’s social media platform X, enhances real-time query responses. While the inclusion of Grok highlights growing overlap among Musk’s ventures, Tesla emphasized that the feature is intended for information access only and not for vehicle operation.

In addition to AI capabilities, update 2025.26 introduces Light Sync, allowing accent lights to respond to music and sync with album art colors. The feature is compatible with the latest Model 3 and Model Y units, along with the 2026 versions of the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck.

The update also brings new customization options for in-car audio, enabling users to create and save multiple listening presets. Enhancements to the Dashcam Viewer include zoom and playback speed controls, with Cybertruck users gaining a grid view to more easily manage recordings.

Tesla has expanded its charging location data to show access restrictions, such as valet service requirements and pay-to-park conditions. Drivers will now receive notifications with specific location details, including parking levels, access codes, and restroom availability.

Rounding out the update is a new Onboarding Guide designed to assist new Tesla owners in navigating vehicle features. The guide includes tutorials on settings, lighting, wiper controls, and Autopilot.

All features in the 2025.26 update are being delivered to eligible vehicles via an over-the-air rollout, consistent with Tesla’s typical software distribution model.
