Singapore-based real estate developer Allgreen Properties said it will launch the country’s largest public electric vehicle charging hub at its Great World mixed-use development in mid-December, as demand accelerates for fast and accessible EV infrastructure. The new facility will be able to charge up to 55 vehicles simultaneously and is being rolled out across the Basement 3 and Basement 3A car parks of Great World, a 1.06 million-square-foot complex that includes a shopping mall, office tower and serviced apartments. China’s largest new energy vehicle (NEV) maker BYD said it expects to regain growth momentum after a recent sales slowdown, with Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu pointing to upcoming technological breakthroughs and expanded overseas efforts as key drivers of a potential recovery. Speaking at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on Thursday, Wang said domestic sales had weakened this year partly because BYD’s technological lead over rivals has narrowed, while industry-wide price competition has intensified. Vulcan Energy has finalised a €2.193 billion financing package to fund the first phase of its lithium extraction project in Germany, clearing the final hurdle for construction of what is expected to become Europe’s largest source of domestically produced battery-grade lithium. The German-Australian company said the funding brings together private, institutional and public-sector investors. Germany’s newly established Raw Materials Fund will invest up to €150 million, marking its first allocation since being set up to strengthen strategic mineral supply chains. Rivian will recall 34,824 electric delivery vans (EDVs) in the United States after discovering that a damaged driver-side seat belt pretensioner cable could fail to properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said. The recall covers certain 2022–2025 Rivian EDV models built between Dec. 10, 2021 and Nov. 8, 2025, all of which are fully electric light trucks. Volkswagen is preparing to convert its Transparent Factory in Dresden into an innovation hub after vehicle production ends later this year, according to a report by German business publication Handelsblatt, as the automaker advances a wider restructuring of its industrial and research footprint. Volkswagen Group has appointed Ludwig Fazel as its new Head of Group Strategy, Group Product Strategy and General Secretariat, effective Dec. 1, following the departure of Stefan Weckbach, the automaker said. Fazel will report directly to Volkswagen Group Chief Executive Oliver Blume, maintaining the same reporting structure as his predecessors. Geely-backed Zeekr Group reported record vehicle deliveries of 63,902 units in November, marking its second consecutive month of all-time highs, driven largely by a sharp rebound at its core Zeekr brand. Skoda Auto has produced 100,000 units of its all-electric Elroq compact SUV within less than a year of starting series production, underlining the rapid market uptake of the model across Europe. The milestone vehicle, an Elroq vRS finished in Hyper Green, rolled off the production line at the automaker’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, where the model has been built since early 2025. Leapmotor delivered a record 70,327 vehicles in November, extending its run of monthly highs to seven consecutive months as the Stellantis-backed Chinese electric vehicle maker continues a rapid expansion driven by new model launches and overseas market entry. South Korea said on Nov. 26 it will establish large-scale autonomous driving demonstration cities capable of deploying more than 100 vehicles, as part of a broader push to commercialise fully autonomous vehicles by 2027. Tesla has opened its first Supercharger station in the United States that is owned by a third party, marking a change in the company’s approach to expanding its nationwide charging network. Bollinger Motors, the U.S. electric truck manufacturer attempting to stabilise operations after months of financial distress, has missed two payroll cycles and is facing multiple legal claims from suppliers over unpaid invoices.
