SEG Automotive will present its aftermarket product portfolio at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, including remanufactured electric drive units, commercial vehicle components, 48V mild-hybrid systems and starter batteries.

The company will exhibit at booth C20 in Hall 3.0 during the event, which is scheduled to take place in Frankfurt from September 8 to 12.

Redrive Range to Add Hyundai and Kia Applications

SEG Automotive will use the event to provide an update on its redrive range of remanufactured high-voltage drive components.

Easelink and SEG Automotive Partner to Industrialise Matrix Charging Technology

The company introduced a replacement solution for the Large Drive Unit used in the Tesla Model S under the redrive brand in 2024. The range was later expanded with an electric motor for the Renault Zoe.

SEG Automotive said the redrive approach involves remanufacturing complete drive units or motors rather than providing individual repair components. The Tesla solution includes the electric motor, inverter and transmission.

The company plans to add an electric motor for the Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro to the range from the end of 2026. The two models use the same underlying motor platform, according to SEG Automotive.

The permanent magnet synchronous motor will be offered in versions corresponding to the 100 kW and 150 kW power outputs used in the vehicles.

A cutaway version of the Tesla Model S remanufactured drive unit will also be displayed at the exhibition.

Commercial Vehicle Components

SEG Automotive will display starters and alternators designed for heavy commercial vehicles.

The company’s latest heavy-duty alternator has a power increase of up to 20% in its specified operating range of 2,100 rpm. The company has also expanded the range with a higher-output version for applications with greater electrical requirements.

SEG Automotive said the latest alternator has a doubled standard service life and approximately 30% greater temperature resistance compared with the previous version.

The heavy-duty starter has also been redesigned to increase service life, starting cycles and temperature resistance. It carries an IP6K9K rating for protection against dust and high-pressure or steam-jet water exposure.

Starters, Alternators and 48V Systems

SEG Automotive will also demonstrate the testing of its starters, alternators and 48V mild-hybrid starter generators.

The components are subjected to conditions including moisture, heat, cold, dust and vibration during development and validation.

The 48V system, also known as a belt-driven starter generator, is used in mild-hybrid powertrains to support functions such as engine starting and energy recuperation.

The company said its aftermarket products undergo testing before being released for distribution.

POWERbattery Range

The company’s POWERbattery range of 12V starter batteries will also be on display.

The batteries include features such as an integrated charge-level indicator, plate separators, maintenance-free construction and reinforced housings.

SEG Automotive offers SLI, EFB and AGM battery technologies for different vehicle applications.

The company said nine part numbers cover approximately 97% of passenger cars, while three part numbers cover about 95% of vans and five additional part numbers cover approximately 90% of commercial vehicles.

The batteries are compatible with a range of powertrains, including internal combustion engines, mild hybrids, full hybrids, plug-in hybrids and battery-electric vehicles.

SEG Automotive will present the portfolio at booth 3.0 C20 during Automechanika Frankfurt 2026.
