Tesla has launched a new subsidiary, Tesla Morocco, marking the company’s first direct entry into the African market. The entity, officially registered on May 27, 2025, is a joint initiative by Tesla International B.V. and Tesla Motors Netherlands B.V., according to Arabian Gulf Business Insight.
Tesla Morocco will handle the import, distribution, and servicing of Tesla electric vehicles, along with deploying solar and battery storage solutions.
The subsidiary will also oversee the development of a national charging network. The company’s headquarters are located at the Crystal Tower in Casablanca Marina, a major business center in the country.
Executives Rafael Arqueza Martin and Shahin Oliver Khorshidpanah will manage the new operations. While this is Tesla’s first formal business entity in Africa, the company had previously established a presence in Morocco through the installation of Supercharger stations beginning in 2021.
Tesla’s entry into Morocco is part of a broader international expansion strategy. In addition to Morocco, the company has recently taken steps to enter South America via Chile and is preparing to launch sales in India.
