Tesla has begun rolling out its 2025 Spring Update, adding a range of new features and improvements via over-the-air software, although many of the updates will only be available on the company’s more recent vehicle models.
A key highlight of the update is the introduction of adaptive headlights for vehicles equipped with matrix LED headlamps. This feature, now available in Canada and the United States, enables dynamic dimming of specific pixels to improve nighttime visibility while reducing glare for other drivers. The update does not apply to the Cybertruck, which lacks the required hardware.

Tesla has also expanded Sentry Mode and Dashcam functionality by adding support for B-pillar camera recordings. This upgrade increases the total number of recorded camera views from four to six, enhancing visibility on the vehicle’s sides.
A redesigned Dashcam Viewer accompanies this improvement, providing a grid layout and allowing users to navigate between clips and skip ahead in 15-second increments. These updates are limited to Tesla vehicles built with the company’s newer AI4 hardware.

In terms of navigation, the update introduces three new routing preferences: “Fastest,” “Best Amenities & Fewer Stops,” and “Avoid Highways.” Supercharger locations now include listings of nearby restaurants and shops, intended to make charging breaks more convenient for users.

Several features introduced are exclusive to the Cybertruck. These include automatic switching to Comfort Mode when Autopilot is engaged, which adjusts ride height and steering for a smoother drive. Additional enhancements include Lane Departure Avoidance, which provides both alerts and steering assistance, and the ability to save frunk opening heights based on specific locations.
Tesla has also expanded trunk height memory settings beyond the Model Y. Vehicles such as the Model 3 with powered trunks, 2021 and later Model S and X, and newer Model Ys will now support location-based trunk height customization. This feature aims to prevent damage in areas with low overhead clearance.
A new setting called “Keep Accessory Power On” allows continued use of USB ports, wireless chargers, and 12V sockets after the vehicle is exited, provided the battery is above 20 percent. This removes the need to activate Camp Mode for accessory use.

For the Model S and X with updated instrument clusters, Tesla has added the option to display blind spot camera feeds directly on the driver’s instrument panel. Previously, this feed was only shown on the central infotainment screen.
Other updates include enhanced media and connectivity options, such as improved filtering for media searches, shuffle functionality for larger Apple Music playlists, and expanded support for streaming services including Amazon Music Free and YouTube Music’s “Up Next” feature. The update also automates phone hotspot reconnections during driving.
