Japanese EV charging solutions provider Terra Charge has inaugurated its first public EV charging hub in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Strategically located on the Delhi-Meerut Highway, this new facility marks a significant milestone in supporting electric mobility within the National Capital Region (NCR), which encompasses Delhi and nearby districts.

The EV hub, featuring 71 chargers, can serve up to 72 electric vehicles simultaneously. While the primary focus is on electric two- and three-wheelers, with 70 alternating current (AC) chargers offering a low output of 3.3 kW, the site also includes a 60 kW direct current (DC) charger for electric cars equipped with the CCS2 charging port. This broad capacity allows the charging station to cater to a wide range of electric vehicles.

Terra Charge has invested 50 million rupees (approximately 545,000 euros) in developing the Ghaziabad charging hub. “Our new hub in Ghaziabad is one of the largest public EV charging stations in India,” said Akihito Ueda, CEO of Terra Charge India. “We chose to keep our charging hub open to public and commercial fleets to meet the region’s charging requirements and support large-scale adoption.”

With this facility, Terra Charge now operates 50 EV charging stations across India, providing more than 400 charging points. The company continues to expand, with partnerships like its recent collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to establish charging hubs at major airports. Terra Charge’s growth reflects its commitment to enhancing India’s EV infrastructure, alongside operations in Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia.
