Terawatt Infrastructure has opened its first medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicle (EV) charging truck stop in California, located in Rancho Dominguez, just 12 miles north of the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. The private, multi-fleet site is designed to support electric truck operations servicing the country’s largest container ports.
The Rancho Dominguez charging site features 20 pull-through and bobtail DC fast charging stalls and offers a total capacity of 7 megawatts. The company says the hub can support charging for up to 125 trucks per day through a reservation system.

The site is already in use by several fleet operators, including Dreaded Trucking, Hight Logistics, PepsiCo, Quick Container Drayage, Southern Counties Express, Tradelink Transport, and WestCoast Trucking & Warehousing.
“This launch underscores growing collaboration between enterprises, shippers, carriers, and charging infrastructure providers to advance sustainable technologies across logistics and transportation operations, especially in the medium and heavy-duty sectors,” said Neha Palmer, CEO and cofounder of Terawatt.

In addition to charging infrastructure, the site includes Terawatt’s proprietary charge management software, in-house technicians, 24/7 customer service, and onsite parts management. Palmer added that the company plans to bring another site online in Rialto, California, in June.
Terawatt is also supporting the I-10 Consortium heavy-duty EV pilot, which launched in September 2024. As part of the program—billed as the first-ever over-the-road electrified corridor in the United States—Terawatt is providing infrastructure, software, operations, and maintenance services at six of its charging hubs along the I-10 corridor.
