Stellantis has launched a promotional campaign offering battery-electric versions of its compact and mid-size vans at the same price as diesel models across Europe, as the automaker seeks to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles.
The initiative, introduced by the company’s commercial vehicle division Stellantis Pro One, will run until the end of June and applies to several models in the group’s light commercial vehicle lineup.
The offer covers compact vans including the Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Professional Doblò, Opel Combo and Peugeot Partner, as well as mid-size vans such as the Citroën Jumpy, Fiat Professional Scudo, Opel Vivaro and Peugeot Expert.
According to Stellantis, the campaign is designed to help professional customers transition to electric mobility by removing one of the main barriers to adoption — the higher upfront cost of battery-electric vehicles.
The company noted that while electric vans typically offer lower running and maintenance costs, the initial purchase or leasing price can discourage fleet operators from switching from diesel vehicles.
Under the campaign, electric versions of these vans will be offered at the same price as their diesel equivalents while maintaining similar payload capacity and operational flexibility. Stellantis said the vans provide payloads ranging from 800 kilograms to 1.5 tonnes and offer electric driving ranges of up to 340 kilometres for compact vans and up to 350 kilometres for mid-size vans.
Examples from the German market highlight the price gap that the promotion aims to close. The diesel Opel Combo Cargo M panel van starts at €24,350 net, while the electric Opel Combo Cargo Electric with a 100 kW motor starts at €31,500 net. Under the campaign, this difference of €7,150 would effectively be eliminated.
In the mid-size segment, the Citroën Jumpy M panel van begins at €31,500 net in Germany for the entry-level diesel version. The battery-electric Citroën ë-Jumpy equipped with a 49 kWh battery starts at €38,300 net, representing a price difference of €6,800. The variant with the larger 75 kWh battery starts at €43,300.
Eric Laforge, global senior vice president of Stellantis Pro One, said the initiative aims to make electric vans more accessible for business users.
“With this campaign, Stellantis Pro One is taking a concrete step to support professionals at every stage of their electrification journey,” Laforge said. “By offering battery-electric commercial vehicles at the same price as diesel, we are making electric mobility a realistic and accessible option for all professional customers.”
