SES AI Corporation, a developer of lithium-metal (Li-Metal) rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles (EVs), has secured contracts valued at up to $10 million with two automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

These agreements focus on the development of AI-enhanced Li-Metal and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries.

Through its AI-powered platform, AlphaPhase, SES AI plans to design and develop high-performance batteries that meet the specific requirements of its automotive partners.

The batteries are expected to feature advanced cell chemistry, optimized electrode designs, and enhanced thermal management, aimed at improving energy density, power output, and safety.

The contracts are set to be completed within 12 to 18 months, marking a significant step in SES AI’s efforts to provide advanced battery solutions for the electric vehicle market. SES AI’s partnerships with these OEMs reflect the recognition of its technology in the industry.
