Porsche has inaugurated its fifth Charging Lounge in Hamburg-Rahlstedt, located next to its Porsche Approved Service Centre (PASZ), marking the first to feature a modular design. This latest location adds to the manufacturer’s expanding network, which includes lounges in Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld, Koblach, and Ingolstadt.
The Hamburg-Rahlstedt lounge is equipped with four fast-charging stations, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW. These stations are available exclusively for Porsche models, including the latest Taycan facelift, which can charge at a peak rate of 320 kW. As Porsche explains, “a current generation Taycan, for example, can be charged from ten to 80 per cent state of charge (SoC) in 18 minutes.” This ensures that drivers can quickly continue their journeys with minimal downtime.

In addition to fast-charging capabilities, the lounge offers a range of amenities for customer comfort. “In addition to coffee, the new lounge also offers a well-stocked selection of soft drinks and snacks, a water dispenser and a modern sanitary room. There is also a high-performance WiFi connection available,” Porsche states.
Access to the lounge and charging stations is provided through the Porsche ID, which can be linked to the vehicle, allowing for automatic entry through license plate recognition. Alternatively, customers can use the Porsche Charging Card or a QR code from the My Porsche app.

The new location stands out for its modular design, a first for Porsche, which was developed in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche. The modular concept allows for faster setup and greater adaptability to the site’s specific layout. As Porsche highlights, “The foundation is made of concrete. However, this material is largely avoided in the modules. They are mostly made of steel, stainless steel, wood and stone with a partner of Porsche based in Baden-Württemberg using electricity from renewable energies.”
The lounge is also equipped with a photovoltaic system on the roof, and a heat pump provides heating and air conditioning, optimizing energy use with a digital building management system that automatically adjusts lighting when the space is not in use.
