Huawei-backed new energy vehicle (NEV) brand Aito has started pre-sales for its latest SUV, the M5 Ultra, with an official launch expected later this month, the company announced on [DATE].
Pre-sales for the M5 Ultra begin at RMB 238,000 ($32,680). Customers placing an early order can pay RMB 2,000 to receive a RMB 5,000 discount on the final payment, Aito said.

The M5 Ultra will introduce five major upgrades, focusing on exterior design, intelligent driving capabilities, handling, safety, and interior features. It will be equipped with a 192-channel LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar to enhance autonomous driving functions.
The model will come standard with Huawei’s high-level smart driving system, according to Richard Yu, managing director and chairman of Huawei’s smart car solutions business unit. “The release of the M5 Ultra will be later this month,” Yu said in a video statement.

Aito, a premium NEV brand established in December 2021 by Seres Group in collaboration with Huawei, introduced its first model, the M5, later that month. Its current lineup includes the M7 and M9 SUVs.
In April last year, Aito launched an updated version of the M5, offering two extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants and one battery electric vehicle (BEV) option. The starting prices for these variants currently range from RMB 249,800 to RMB 279,800.

The M5 Ultra measures 4,785 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,880 mm.
