German energy firm E.ON announced plans to install new ultra-rapid EV charging hubs at six locations across Scotland, adding 42 high-powered chargers near key cities including Dundee, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Dunfermline.
The expansion builds on E.ONâs existing presence in Scotland, where the company already operates an ultra-rapid charging hub in Aberdeen. The facility, which features 12 charging bays, is E.ONâs most northern EV charging site in the UK and is “strategically positioned at the gateway to the Granite City,” the company said.

E.ON states its ultra-fast chargers can deliver up to 150 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes, with a combined charging capacity of 12.6 MWâenough to power 40,000 UK homes. The companyâs chargers offer up to 300 kW per port, though it recently announced plans to introduce 400 kW charging stations on the Germany-Denmark border.
âOur goal is to make electric driving seamless and accessible for everyone, and these new charging hubs are a significant step forward in Scotlandâs transition to cleaner transportation. But this is just the start,â said Dev Chana, Managing Director of E.ON Drive Infrastructure UK. âE.ON operates thousands of charging points right across Europe, and these new hubs for Scotland are the latest part of a bigger drive to expand our EV charging network across the UK.â
