Onvo, the sub-brand of Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio (NYSE: NIO), said Monday that pre-sales for its new flagship SUV, the L90, will begin on July 10. The company will simultaneously make display vehicles available at all its stores.
The L90, a full-size three-row SUV, features a six-seat layout with what appears to be zero-gravity seats in the second row — a premium comfort option gaining traction among domestic SUV buyers. This marks the first interior reveal for the model, which was originally previewed during the 2025 Shanghai auto show in April.
“The L90 is designed to elevate family travel experiences with thoughtful space, comfort and technology,” Onvo management stated during a previous product briefing in April. The model will also come standard with an 85-kWh long-range battery, the company added.
Inside, the L90 adopts a design language similar to Nio’s recent models, with a horizontally mounted central touchscreen and dual wireless phone charging panels in the front row. An entertainment screen is mounted on the roof, echoing setups seen in several other Chinese SUVs, particularly those from Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI).
Onvo has not yet disclosed pricing for the L90, but it is expected to be significantly more expensive than the mid-size L60, which starts at RMB 206,900 ($28,870) and features a 60-kWh battery. The L90 is both longer and wider, measuring 5,145 mm in length and 1,998 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, according to filings.
The SUV will be available in both single- and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor version will offer battery pack options of 60.6 kWh and 85.1 kWh, with a CLTC-estimated range between 425 and 605 kilometers. The dual-motor variant is expected to follow the powertrain layout of Nio’s mainline models.
The L90 is also the first vehicle to be launched under the leadership of Shen Fei, who replaced Alan Ai as Onvo’s president in April. Ai had overseen the launch of the L60, Onvo’s inaugural model.
In addition to the L90, Onvo plans to introduce the L80, a five-seat SUV based on the same platform, in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to recent regulatory filings.
