Surprisingly, Nascar will soon present an electric car race in 2023. This news itself was revealed by the New York Post, from a leaked Nascar document, where it was written that there would be an electric sports car and SUV race.

Furthermore, it is stated in the document that each class will present 12 cars and will race for 30 minutes non-stop without charging.

In fact, rumors are that Nascar will be testing a prototype of the racing car involved at the LA Coliseum in February.

The electric car involved will be modified according to Nascar’s requirements, including having a power close to 1,000 HP.

Please note, the current racing event called Next Gen Cup series has allowed teams to use hybrid engines to add power from the V8 engine of the race car.

Meanwhile, Nascar’s own side regarding this news did not deny the existence of the race at all.

Nascar explained, ”As we’ve said before, we are very open to the potential of electric vehicles including the opportunities it presents, such as car racing. Currently we are also perfecting the cooperation with the manufactures”.
