Previously, LG Energy Solution planned to increase the production of batteries allocated to Ford Motor at its plant in Poland by 2023.
Launching from Yonhap via Antara, the leading company will soon develop production lines depending on demand.
LG Energy began supplying battery packs to Ford Focus Electric hatchback models in 2011. LG Energy has been providing battery packs for Ford’s Mustang Mach-E SUV and all-electric E-Transit van since late 2020.
The agreement is part of Ford’s plan to invest $50 billion in electric vehicle development by 2026 and produce more than 2 million electric vehicles annually, the statement said.
Ford aims to increase the ratio of electric vehicles in overall sales to more than 50 percent by 2030, the statement said.
