MINI Recharged’s collaboration with artist Lakwena Maciver presents a unique look that combines classic, futuristic, and colorful styles.
MINI Recharged itself is a unique initiative carried out by BMW. This program allows customers in the UK to convert their classic mini into electric power. However, the fun of these changes can be returned to the standard engine.
“I hope this MINI Recharged will make people feel happy and make them smile. This Mini is a festival of cultural colors,” Maciver explained.
The London-based artist chose the classic MINI from the same year he was born. Initial sketches are made on paper manually, before being applied to the original body.
Owners whose cars were produced from 1959 to 2000, will be able to ship their car and replace the A-series four-cylinder engine with an electric motor capable of producing up to 122 hp. With an output of 6.6 kW, it can travel 160 km, accelerating from 0-100 kph in just about nine seconds.
The car was on display at the European Championships in Munich from August 11-21, along with other cars such as David Bowie’s 40th anniversary Mini, which was made in 1999.
