Pepper Motion GmbH the German automotive company announced that the converted and electrified Mercedes-Benz Actros MP5 will be available from 2023. The electric truck with optimized payload is ideal for transporting goods.

The first vehicle will receive four battery packs totaling 240 kWh and thus having a range of around 250 km. The Mercedes-Benz Actros MP3 model offered for conversion with the company has shown its robustness and reliability to customers since 2021.

According to information released on the official Peper Motion website, they plan to produce around 50 converted Actros trucks in increased production by 2023 and around 2,500 vehicles by 2030.

The Actros MP5 powered by Pepper Motion has several innovative features that further advance the digitization of the transportation sector. The first step involves creating vehicle tracking, online diagnosis, and retrieval of live data on vehicle status, in addition to over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

As a manufacturer and developer, Pepper Motion provides electricity to its own customers' vehicles and provides conversion companies with complete retrofit kits, or end customers with converted vehicles.

At the heart of the modular drive system is pepper's own vehicle control unit (VCU) which is system software to reliably control the entire vehicle according to the automotive industry's highest standard for functional safety (ISO 26262).

The rapid shift towards climate-friendly zero-emission mobility is increasingly being demanded by many, this is a major challenge for companies in the transportation sector. One of Pepper Motion's concepts is to help customers overcome the complex challenges of transitioning to a zero-emissions fleet by providing them with an entire ecosystem.
