Mercedes-Benz Trucks has introduced its Remote 3.0 mobile application, designed to offer drivers of its electric eActros 600 truck real-time access to critical vehicle and charging information via smartphones. The app is part of the manufacturer’s efforts to improve connectivity for battery-electric trucks and will be expanded to other Mercedes-Benz truck models starting in summer 2025.
The new app allows drivers to monitor the status of their vehicles and charging processes remotely, delivering notifications on key metrics such as tyre pressure, compressed-air supply, mileage, and, specifically for the eActros 600, battery-related data including state of charge, remaining range, and estimated charging time. Alerts are also sent when charging begins, pauses, or completes, helping to reduce downtime during long-haul operations.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks said the Remote 3.0 app is integrated within its TruckLive ecosystem, supports over 13 languages, and requires trucks to be equipped with the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 and Truck Data Centre 8, alongside an active TruckLive contract. Truck pairing with the app is facilitated through a QR code scan, eliminating the need for password entry.
“The goal is to improve driver connectivity with battery-electric trucks,” a company spokesperson said, underscoring the push to enhance digital tools for commercial electric vehicles. The app will soon be available for other Mercedes-Benz trucks, including the new Actros L and eArocs models, with further features planned later this year.
This development reflects the broader industry trend toward increasing digitalization and remote monitoring capabilities in commercial electric vehicles, aimed at boosting operational efficiency and driver convenience.
