Mack Trucks and Terex Utilities will introduce their latest zero-emissions utility bucket truck at Work Truck Week in Indiana later this month. The vehicle, developed jointly by the two companies, is built on a Mack MD7 Electric Class 7 chassis and aims to offer extended range and increased payload capacity for utility operations.
The truck is equipped with an Optima HR55 aerial device, powered by a HyPower SmartPTO from Viatec. This system replaces a traditional mechanical power take-off, eliminating the need for an idling internal combustion engine and reducing workers’ exposure to exhaust emissions.

“By combining our industry-leading Optima HR55 aerial device with Mack’s innovative MD7 Electric chassis, we’re providing utility companies with a solution that doesn’t compromise on performance or capability while supporting their sustainability goals,” said Tyler Schwingler, product marketing manager at Terex Utilities.
The Mack MD Electric truck also features the 3rd Eye digital platform, incorporating AI-driven cameras to improve safety and efficiency. The system includes up to six high-definition cameras that provide a 460-degree real-time view on an in-cab monitor, reducing blind spots and enhancing maneuverability in high-traffic job sites.
