Lucid is expanding its international presence as it prepares to ship a second batch of its Gravity electric SUVs to Saudi Arabia. The American automaker, known for its high-performance electric vehicles, reported a solid performance in the first quarter of 2025, delivering 3,109 vehicles, marking its fifth consecutive quarter of record deliveries despite some logistical challenges in Saudi Arabia.
The company noted that deliveries to Saudi Arabia were initially limited due to a system change but have since been resolved. Lucid’s manufacturing operations in Arizona have shown increased output, with 2,213 units produced in the first quarter alone. The company also confirmed that 600 vehicles are currently en route to Saudi Arabia and will contribute to the second-quarter production numbers.
Saudi Arabia continues to play a critical role in Lucid’s global strategy. In 2023, the company opened its first international manufacturing plant, AMP-2, located in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Jeddah. Initially, vehicles are shipped from Lucid’s Casa Grande, Arizona, plant for final assembly at the KAEC facility. The company plans to expand production capacity at AMP-2, ultimately aiming to produce up to 150,000 vehicles annually.
Adrian Price, Senior Vice President of Lucid, shared the update about the second shipment of Gravity models on LinkedIn, saying, “Look at these beauties! Our second shipment of Lucid Gravity SUVs is ready to depart our factory in Arizona for Saudi Arabia!”

The automaker reaffirmed its goal of producing 20,000 vehicles in 2025, a significant increase from the 9,000 units manufactured in 2024. Lucid’s first-quarter performance indicates it is on track to deliver approximately 12,500 vehicles this year. The company’s liquidity stood at $5.76 billion at the end of Q1, providing a cushion for its operations through the second half of 2026, which will support the development of its new midsize vehicle platform.
Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff highlighted the company’s future aspirations, stating that while he is enthusiastic about the Gravity SUV, the upcoming midsize platform will be a “bigger game change.” Lucid’s plans for the midsize platform include the introduction of both an electric sedan and SUV, with expected prices starting around $50,000, aimed at competing with Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y. Former CEO Peter Rawlinson stated that the midsize platform would be the moment when Lucid competes directly with Tesla.
