Lucid Motors said it will offer a $7,500 rebate on its upcoming Gravity SUV to offset the phase-out of the U.S. federal electric vehicle tax credit, which is due to end in September.
The “Lucid Advantage Credit” will be available for customers who order a Gravity by Sept. 30 and lease it between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31. Existing qualifying customers will also be covered.

“Why Lucid Gravity? Because you can have it all, and then some,” the company said, noting the SUV’s market launch is scheduled for November. The Gravity will offer “an unparalleled driving experience with 828 horsepower” and an EPA-estimated range of up to 450 miles, Lucid added. The model also supports plug-and-charge access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.
The SUV’s dual-motor, 900-volt electric drive is capable of delivering up to 588 kW, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds, according to earlier specifications.
Lucid said the decision to limit the incentive to the Gravity reflects the model’s imminent release, while its Air sedan has been available for several years.

The automaker this week also said it plans to deepen its involvement across the EV supply chain and reported an 83% year-on-year increase in production. Lucid recently set a range benchmark with its Air Grand Touring sedan, covering more than 1,200 km on a single charge, although much of that distance was achieved on Alpine downhill routes.
