Lotus has filed regulatory details in China for its upcoming FOR ME plug-in hybrid sport utility vehicle, marking the electrified combustion-powered variant of the Eletre as the British performance brand expands its lineup in the world’s largest new energy vehicle market.
Images released in December by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) show that the FOR ME retains the overall exterior design of the battery-electric Eletre, with only minor visual changes including revised wheel designs. The SUV features the same long, low-slung profile and aerodynamic styling cues as its fully electric counterpart.

According to the MIIT filing, the Lotus FOR ME measures 5,103 mm in length, 2,019 mm in width and 1,630 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,019 mm. The vehicle is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 205 kW with an electric motor rated at 100 kW, though the total number of electric motors has not yet been clearly disclosed. The listed curb weight is 2,575 kg, and the top speed is rated at 230 km/h.
Earlier disclosures from Lotus indicated the PHEV variant could deliver combined system output approaching 708 kW and achieve a combined driving range of up to 1,000 km, alongside a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of around 3 seconds. These figures have not yet been confirmed in the latest regulatory documents.
