LiveWire, the all-electric motorcycle company born from Harley-Davidson’s electric motorcycle division, has introduced its latest electric motorcycle, the LiveWire S2 Mulholland. This new model marks LiveWire’s first foray into the cruiser electric motorcycle segment, distinguishing it as the pioneer in this category among major electric motorcycle manufacturers.

Contrary to the traditional Harley-Davidson cruiser aesthetic characterized by chrome pipes and leather bar tassels, the LiveWire S2 Mulholland is dubbed a “performance cruiser,” boasting specifications to match.

With a 3.3-second 0-60 mph time, the S2 Mulholland blends sportiness with the laidback cruiser geometry, featuring taller bars for a more relaxed riding posture. The bike’s design includes a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, lending it a squat rear end.

Unlike conventional cruiser frames, the S2 Mulholland utilizes the Arrow platform, also found on the S2 Del Mar, which revolves around a structural battery enabling multiple bikes to be constructed around a similar architecture.

LiveWire’s introduction of the S2 Del Mar on the versatile Arrow platform two years ago hinted at the possibility of additional bikes sharing the same setup. The unveiling of the S2 Mulholland fulfills that speculation, presenting a cruiser format with a distinct design.

The S2 Mulholland represents a design shift for LiveWire, reimagining the motorcycle’s profile and silhouette, traditionally influenced by the gas tank. The company has also integrated sustainable materials into key components for the first time, reducing the use of petroleum-based plastics. Components such as the fenders, radiator shrouds, and wiring caddies are made from hemp bio-composites and recycled ocean fishing nets, while the seat is composed of recyclable silicone.

In terms of powertrain, the S2 Mulholland shares many components with the S2 Del Mar, including a 10.5 kWh battery with a 78-minute recharge time on Level 2 charging. The S2 Mulholland boasts a higher city range of 121 miles (194 km) compared to the S2 Del Mar’s 113 miles (181 km), indicating potential improvements in motor efficiency.

The S2 Mulholland is now available at LiveWire and Harley-Davidson dealerships in North America, priced at US $15,999 and CAD $21,999. International availability is slated for 2025, following the S2 Del Mar’s expansion to Europe several months after its US launch.

LiveWire also plans to offer a range of accessories for the S2 Mulholland, including passenger seats and pegs, windscreens, soft and hard bags, luggage racks, and cosmetic pieces, enhancing the bike’s customization options and riding experience.
