Leapmotor has entered the South American market, launching two models each in Brazil and Chile as it continues to broaden its global presence. The company introduced the C10 SUV in both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) versions, along with the all-electric B10 SUV, according to an announcement released on Tuesday.
Leapmotor also displayed its six-seat electric SUV, the C16, at the São Paulo auto show as part of its market debut. The company plans to establish 36 sales outlets across 27 cities in Brazil and five outlets in Chile by the end of the year.

The expansion will rely on Stellantis’ existing sales and service infrastructure, which will support retail operations, after-sales services, and spare parts supply in both markets.
Leapmotor said it intends to broaden its regional coverage by moving into Argentina, Colombia, and Ecuador, marking the next phase of its South American strategy. The broader push follows Stellantis’ agreement in October 2023 to invest 1.5 billion euros ($1.7 billion) for a 20% stake in Leapmotor, becoming its largest external shareholder. In May 2024, the two companies formed Leapmotor International, a Netherlands-based joint venture with a 51:49 ownership split.

Leapmotor aims to leverage Stellantis’ distribution channels as it builds a stronger international sales network. In China, the company currently offers seven models — the T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11, and C16 — with the T03, B01, and B10 available exclusively as BEVs, while its remaining models include EREV options.
