A few days ago we discussed the debut of the DeLorean Alpha5 electric car with the iconic gullwing doors.
But not long after the car went viral on the internet, John DeLorean’s daughter, Kat DeLorean Seymour, made a post on Instagram showing that she and her family did not agree with the design used by DeLorean Alpha5.
In his Instagram post, the son of the founder of the company said that the design used did not reflect the company founded by John DeLorean.
“This is not my father’s legacy. Please stop lying and stop bringing up my father’s name,” DeLorean Seymour said in his post.

Uniquely, the child’s Instagram bio also includes a website that is not the official DMC website. On the site, there is another DeLorean render that looks more like his father’s DMC-12.
The site’s home page says that the render design was created in honor of the late great John Delorean and all his achievements.
The issue seems pretty complicated, and it’s pretty clear that Kat DeLorean doesn’t agree with the Alpha5’s design at all. In addition, the DMC has so far not responded to the protest.
