French logistics firm Jacky Perrenot has taken delivery of the country’s first electric truck from MAN Truck & Bus, following an order placed in March 2024. The initial handover marks the start of a broader rollout, with 40 vehicles already on firm order and an option for an additional 60 units.
The first eTGX tractor unit was delivered at MAN’s service centre in Lyon. It is part of a pre-series batch of 200 trucks produced by MAN in early 2024, ahead of full-scale production set to begin later this year at the company’s Munich plant.

“This first eTruck in France is going to one of the country’s leading distribution companies,” said MAN Truck & Bus CEO Alexander Vlaskamp. “We are very pleased with the trust placed in MAN and proud to be contributing to the sustainable decarbonisation of freight transport on France’s roads.”
The order from Jacky Perrenot includes 35 tractor units and five chassis, making it MAN’s largest single eTruck order to date. The company, which claims to be France’s market leader in logistics with a 2023 turnover of over €1 billion, aims to integrate 250 electric trucks into its fleet by 2025. Its electrification plans also include the installation of 90 truck charging stations.

The eTGX truck model features a modular battery system offering a maximum range of approximately 500 kilometres. It supports standard CCS charging up to 375 kW and will later accommodate the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) for up to 1 MW. According to MAN, the pre-series vehicles have already logged around 800,000 kilometres across Europe under varied conditions, with an average energy consumption of 104 kWh per 100 kilometres.
The eTruck range has recently expanded to include new 4×2 and 6×2 chassis, significantly increasing the number of potential configurations. MAN said it now offers over a million variant combinations, compared to just three previously defined models.
