Italian public transport operator ASF Autolinee has expanded its electric bus fleet with the addition of seven new Yutong vehicles and completed a high-power charging hub at its Lazzago depot, the company said.
The latest delivery brings the number of Yutong e-buses in service to 32 as the operator accelerates its transition to a predominantly electric network.

The new E10 and E12 models follow earlier batches delivered in March and September. ASF said the vehicles feature technology aimed at increasing operational range and improving efficiency, including regenerative braking and fully electric climate-control systems. “The vehicles also offer on-board payment capability via bank cards,” the operator noted. Safety enhancements include internal surveillance and 360-degree exterior cameras, supported by real-time vehicle monitoring systems.
Alongside the fleet expansion, ASF has completed a new charging installation equipped with eight Assytech charging columns capable of powering up to 16 electric buses simultaneously with outputs between 75 kW and 150 kW.

The depot canopy is designed for future solar integration and the project is financed through Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Facility and the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility. The hub is connected to ASF’s digital control centre to support operational oversight.
ASF now operates fully electric services on lines 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 11, positioning Como among the first mid-sized cities in Italy to run a largely electric urban network. The operator expects its battery-electric fleet to log more than 1.8 million zero-emission kilometres each year as additional infrastructure and vehicles come online.
