Hyundai and Kia Invest in WeaveGrid to Boost EV-Grid Integration Technology

WeaveGrid, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging management software, has secured a strategic investment from Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, further solidifying its role as a preferred software solution for automakers integrating EVs with the power grid. This investment follows a previous one from Toyota’s Woven Capital, positioning WeaveGrid as a key player in grid-interactive EV technology.

WeaveGrid’s EV Management System (EVMS) enables grid-integrated charging, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities, and AI-driven smart charging orchestration. The platform is designed to help automakers seamlessly manage EV data while optimizing charging patterns, ensuring cybersecurity and grid reliability.

The investment by Hyundai and Kia adds to the growing industry momentum behind WeaveGrid, with major automakers like Toyota also backing the platform. WeaveGrid’s solutions are already deployed with major utilities and are being scaled to meet the increasing demand for EV-grid connectivity.

Keith Noh, Vice President at Hyundai Motor Company, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership: “WeaveGrid’s technology allows us to turn our vehicles into dynamic energy resources that can communicate intelligently with the electric grid, creating value for drivers, utilities, and the broader energy ecosystem.”
