Apart from that, the announcement also revealed that this Japanese automotive manufacturer is also developing an electric motorcycle that will be used for racing.

According to Honda managing director and senior executive officer Shinji Aoyama, Honda is pursuing a new mission in the motorsports arena.

“Meanwhile, Honda has another important mission to pursue in the field of motorsport. This is the realization of carbon neutrality. Honda has been conducting research and development on carbon neutrality technologies while proactively leveraging the field of motorsports,” said Aoyama.

“From now onwards, we will further enhance our initiatives to practically use this technology in our racing activities,” continued Aoyama.

Aoyama’s statement naturally caused a stir around Honda’s electric motorcycle project. In addition, this electric racing motorcycle will certainly become the basis for the development of Honda’s mass-produced electric motorcycle in the future.

“In addition, starting with motorcycles, we will explore the possibility of introducing electric vehicles in the actual races in which we compete,” he added.
