Chinese LiDAR manufacturer Hesai Group has been selected by U.S. chipmaker Nvidia as a LiDAR partner to support its Drive Hyperion 10 platform, a move aimed at accelerating deployment of Level 4 autonomous vehicle fleets.
Hesai said on Tuesday it is among the latest partners certified to ensure sensor suite compatibility with Nvidia’s open, production-ready Drive Hyperion architecture. The platform integrates cameras, radar, LiDAR and ultrasonic sensors, allowing automakers and developers to build and validate perception systems optimized for highly automated driving.

The company did not disclose which specific LiDAR product will be used in the collaboration. Hesai’s portfolio includes the ETX, an automotive-grade ultra-long-range LiDAR designed for Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving applications.
Hesai and Nvidia have worked together since 2019. In December 2021, Hesai said Nvidia adopted its Pandar128 LiDAR as the ground truth sensor for autonomous driving development systems on the Nvidia Drive platform, marking an early milestone in their cooperation.

The latest partnership comes as Hesai ramps up manufacturing capacity to meet rising demand from the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and robotics markets. On Monday, the company said it plans to double its annual production capacity from 2 million units in 2025 to 4 million units in 2026.
Hesai also said construction of its new manufacturing facility in Bangkok, Thailand, is progressing steadily, with production expected to begin in early 2027. The expansion is intended to support growing global demand and diversify the company’s manufacturing footprint.

In 2025, Hesai delivered about 1.6 million LiDAR units, including roughly 1.4 million units for ADAS applications and more than 200,000 units for robotics, according to the company.
Founded in 2014, Hesai supplies LiDAR solutions primarily to automotive manufacturers. The company was listed on Nasdaq in February 2023 and completed a secondary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in September 2025.
