Here Is Why Volkswagen ID.7’s Climate Control System Is Smart

Volkswagen ID.7

At the CES in Las Vegas, Volkswagen displayed the ID.7 sedan, highlighting its key features and innovations, including the intelligent climate control system. According to Volkswagen, the smart air conditioning in the ID.7 will be the best in its class and the most advanced on the market.

One of the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) is that they don’t need time to warm up during winter, allowing the air conditioner to start heating the car instantly. Volkswagen goes even further with the ID.7 – the cabin will begin to be conditioned as soon as the key is near the vehicle.

The ID.7’s smart air vents will adjust instantly to changing conditions and take into account open doors and passengers in the car. The system offers two modes to suit different preferences: direct airflow to passengers or indirect ventilation of the interior.

The car’s climate control system uses sensors to track the sun’s positioning and intensity and adjust the airflow accordingly. For example, if the sun is shining on the left side of the cabin, the majority of the airflow will be directed there to counteract the extra heat.

Additionally, personalized user profiles are available for multiple drivers. Despite the complexity of the system, Volkswagen claims that it is easy to operate, with voice commands and a large infotainment screen displaying all options on the dashboard for simple one-touch control.

Kindly note that the ID.7 will be launched in China and Europe later this year, after its official reveal in Q2.
