GWM and Autoliv China Team Up for Advanced Auto Safety Technologies

Great Wall Motor (GWM) and Autoliv China, a division of Autoliv, Inc., have unveiled plans to join forces in a strategic partnership aimed at pushing the boundaries of automotive safety technology. This collaboration builds upon a longstanding relationship dating back to 2003 when Autoliv initially developed and supplied seat belts for GWM’s SUVs.

One of the notable outcomes of this partnership is the development of an overhead passenger airbag that deploys from the car’s ceiling, effectively liberating interior space for improved comfort and functionality. Additionally, the collaboration encompasses an integrated safety system known as the “zero-gravity seat,” specifically designed for autonomous vehicles.
