Gravital AXS: A Customizable and Lightweight Electric Gravel Bike

In recent years, gravel bikes have become a prominent force in the cycling community, transforming from a source of skepticism to a widely embraced trend. Electric gravel bikes, in particular, are gaining significant traction, bridging the gap between practical commuting and recreational cycling.

A notable contender in this evolving landscape is the Gravital AXS from the Spanish bike manufacturer Crow, exemplifying the fusion of lightweight design, versatility, and cutting-edge technology.

The Gravital AXS features a Sram Rival AXS wireless drivetrain, representing premium componentry that enhances its overall performance. Notably, the bike offers a unique flexibility with its Fazua 50 street motor, known for its compact size and customizable nature.

With a maximum output of 350 watts and 55 Nm of torque, the motor can be easily removed, transforming the bike into a non-electric version for those seeking a traditional cycling experience.

Fazua’s 252-watt-hour battery pack powers the Gravital AXS, contributing to its punchy electric assistance. The bike is available in both aluminum and carbon frames, with the Gravital SL 1 AXS featuring an aluminum frame and carbon fork, weighing in at an impressive 14.5 kilograms. Meanwhile, the Gravital UL 2 AXS, with a carbon frame, weighs just 13.6 kilograms, challenging the weight standards of non-electric mountain bikes.

Equipped with the Sram Rival AXS 12-speed drivetrain featuring wireless shift technology, the Gravital AXS promises a seamless and advanced riding experience. Fulcrum Rapid Red 500 wheels with Schwalbe G-One Bite TLR rubber provide reliable traction, while hydraulic disc brakes ensure effective stopping power.

In terms of pricing, the Gravital AXS acknowledges the premium features it offers. The aluminum Gravital SL 1 AXS is priced at 4,799 euros (approximately $5,289 USD), while the carbon Gravital UL 2 AXS starts at 5,599 euros (around $6,170 USD).

As expected with such technologically advanced e-bikes, these price points reflect the investment required for enthusiasts looking to explore the intersection of gravel biking and electric mobility.
