Gocycle, the British e-bike company founded by former McLaren car designer Richard Thorpe, has introduced its latest offering, the CX series of electric cargo bikes. Designed to be elegant, lightweight, and foldable, the CX series targets families and includes the CX Plus model, featuring an intriguing new handlebar for improved rider comfort, and the CXi.
The CX series incorporates the Flofit adaptable handlebar setup, deemed by Gocycle as one of the most adjustable-for-comfort handlebars ever developed. Offering adjustability in reach, grip angle, and multiple hand positions for urban riders, the handlebar innovation enhances the overall riding experience.

Gocycle, known for manufacturing Formula One-inspired e-bikes since 2009, brings its expertise to the longtail electric cargo bikes in the CX series. The foldable design adds versatility, making it an attractive option for various use cases. While actual photographs of the model are not yet available, Gocycle’s track record instills confidence in the delivery of the promised CX series.
The Gocycle CX boasts a lightweight 23kg body and can support up to 220kg of total weight, surpassing some current models in load capacity. The dual-legged retractable center kickstand, with a patent pending, is designed to support the substantial load and offers convenience in multi-passenger/rider loading and unloading scenarios.

Constructed with an alloy frame at the front and carbon fiber at the rear, the CX series features a carbon fiber wheel and fork. The 375Wh removable battery provides an 80km range, and the US version comes with a 500W motor and a top speed of 32km/h, while the European version has a 250W motor with a top speed of 25km/h.
Gocycle is currently accepting pre-orders for the CX electric cargo bikes, priced at $7600/€7000 for the CXi and $8,860/€8,210/£6,999 for the Gocycle CX Plus. The initial deliveries are expected in September 2024 for the US and UK markets.
