Genesis plans to introduce the last internal combustion engine model in 2025. After that Genesis will focus on electric vehicles using the E-GMP platform which is also used by Hyundai and Kia.

Genesis brand creative officer Luc Donckerwolke said the Genesis GV60 was a special opening to the electric vehicle market. After that will be followed by seven electric vehicles that are ready to slide into the global market.

Donckerwolke said he put more emphasis on launching a live production version of the electric vehicle, or at least getting close to a production version like the X concept that came out last year.

This model is considered a “high-performance GT” that will compete with the Porsche Taycan in the future.

Furthermore, Genesis will not follow the new naming strategy for electric vehicles such as Kia and Hyundai. This is done in order to remain consistently known in the automotive market.
