Foxconn is a technology company from Taiwan that is well-known for assembling devices made by Apple. In 2020, Foxconn announced that it would enter the electric vehicle market.

A year later, Foxconn introduced three electric cars, one of which was an electric SUV called the Foxtron Model C.

And now, Foxconn has just announced that it will take pre-orders for the Model C in October 2022. Production of this electric SUV will begin sometime in the first half of next year.

Reporting from Gizmochina (23/3), the Foxtron Model C is 4.64 meters long and has a wheelbase of 112.6 inches. The Foxtron Model C will be available in a seven-seater (2+3+2) configuration. With this seating configuration, the Foxtron Model C is said to be suitable for large families.

Foxtron Model C can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmh in just 3.8 seconds. This acceleration time applies to the performance variant with 400 horsepower, 700 Nm of torque, and comes with an AWD drivetrain.

For information, Foxtron is the global name of Honghua Advanced, which is a joint venture between Foxconn and a Taiwan-based automaker, Yulon Group.

Foxtron uses the MIH Open Platform, is an open-source solution for OEMs for the development of new electric vehicles. The Taiwanese company is also building its own cars using the same platform and aims to be an Android electric car for OEMs.

Previously in January 2022, Foxconn invested US$100 billion in Indonesia to build an electric vehicles ecosystem.
