GAC Toyota, the Chinese joint venture between Toyota Motor and state-owned GAC Group, said it will launch the bZ7 electric vehicle in the first quarter of next year, following sustained delivery momentum from its smaller bZ3X electric SUV.
In a statement published on its official WeChat account, GAC Toyota said the bZ3X recorded deliveries of more than 10,000 units in each of the past two months, with November deliveries reaching 10,010 vehicles. The company launched the bZ3X in March with a starting price of 109,800 yuan ($28,290), marking Toyota’s first fully electric SUV in China priced near the lower end of the mass market.

Pre-orders for the upcoming bZ7 began on Nov. 21 during the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show. While no final pricing has been announced, GAC Toyota previously said the model would target the 200,000 yuan segment. The bZ7 is the second electric vehicle primarily developed by Toyota’s China-based engineering team, following the locally engineered bZ3X.
The bZ7 will feature Huawei’s HarmonySpace cockpit system and connectivity with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem, GAC Toyota said. It will also integrate advanced driver assistance technology from China’s Momenta, enabling Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) functions for both city and highway driving.
