Ford Motor said it will launch the electric version of its Bronco sport utility vehicle in China on Dec. 19, roughly a month after opening pre-sales, as the automaker continues to expand its electrified offerings in the world’s largest auto market.
The company said deliveries of the electric Bronco will begin at the time of launch. The model has been developed by Ford China specifically for the Chinese market and is manufactured at the Nanchang plant of its local partner, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC).

Pre-sales for the electric Bronco began on Nov. 18, with five variants available, including extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions. Three EREV variants are priced at 229,800 yuan, 249,800 yuan and 272,800 yuan, while the two BEV versions are priced at 259,800 yuan and 282,800 yuan.
On Dec. 11, the first production electric Bronco rolled off the assembly line at JMC’s factory in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, marking the 200,000th vehicle produced at the plant.
The electric Bronco measures 5,025 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,825 mm in height, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. The EREV variants use a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine as a range-extending generator producing 110 kilowatts, combined with dual electric motors rated at 130 kW at the front and 180 kW at the rear.

The EREV models are equipped with a 43.7-kWh battery, providing a CLTC electric-only range of 220 km and a combined driving range of up to 1,220 km when the fuel tank and battery are fully charged.
The BEV versions feature a dual-motor configuration with 130 kW at the front and 202 kW at the rear, powered by a 105.4-kWh battery pack that delivers a CLTC range of 650 km.
Unlike the traditional body-on-frame Bronco sold in other markets, the China-market electric Bronco adopts a unibody design, reflecting a greater emphasis on urban use.
