Ford reported strong third-quarter sales on Thursday, driven by a combination of traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electrified models, including hybrids and battery-electric vehicles (BEVs).

During the quarter, Ford and Lincoln sold a total of 85,789 electrified vehicles, up 19.8 percent from the same period in 2024. Electrified models represented 15.7 percent of the brands’ total sales, compared with 13.5 percent in the previous quarter.

Battery-electric vehicle deliveries reached 30,612 units, marking a 30.2 percent increase from the prior year. The Mustang Mach-E led the BEV growth, recording its strongest quarter since its 2020 launch with 20,177 units sold, a 50.7 percent increase. The F-150 Lightning also posted record deliveries with 10,005 trucks sold, up nearly 40 percent from the same period last year.

Hybrid vehicles accounted for the majority of electrified sales, with 55,177 units sold. The F-150 Hybrid remained the best-selling full-size hybrid pickup in the United States with 22,212 sales. The Maverick Hybrid maintained its lead in the midsize hybrid pickup segment, delivering 63,516 units, up 11.5 percent compared to the prior year.

Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue and Model e, said the results reflect the company’s balanced approach across powertrains. “We saw strong performance in gas, hybrid, and electrified powertrains, while at the same time growing our paid software solutions, all embedded in vehicles such as Expedition, Explorer, and F-150,” he said.

The company’s overall growth reflects both strong consumer demand for electrified vehicles and continued sales of ICE models such as the Bronco, Explorer, and Expedition. Analysts note that Ford is on track to outsell competitors, including General Motors and Stellantis, in electrified vehicle sales for the year, while maintaining robust performance in conventional vehicles.
