Fastned, a European fast-charging company, has inaugurated its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Italy, expanding its network to eight countries. The new facility is situated at the Truck Park Brescia Est rest area along the A4 motorway between Brescia and Padova, a key route in northern Italy.
The station features eight charging points, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW, enabling EV drivers to add up to 300 kilometers of range in approximately 20 minutes. The design includes a drive-through layout and a canopy equipped with solar panels to reduce environmental impact.

According to the European Alternative Fuels Observatory, over 50% of Italy’s electric vehicles are registered in the country’s northeastern and northwestern regions, making the location strategic for serving a significant number of EV users.
Fastned CEO Michiel Langezaal expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Starting our activities in Italy, the eighth country on Fastned’s map, means a lot to Fastned and to me personally.” He further noted the company’s goal to establish 1,000 stations across Europe by 2030.

This initiative aligns with A4 Holding’s sustainability strategy, which includes increasing the availability of EV charging stations along its 235 kilometers of managed motorways.
